Overview
Zed is a fast editor with AI edit prediction and provider integrations. Cup’n’String provides detection, provider governance, local-service restrictions, and credential shielding.

Setup outline
- Verify the Cup’n’String agent daemon is running.
- Launch Zed editor.
- Outbound calls are automatically governed at the network socket layer.
Verification
Send a prediction prompt in Zed and check if the outbound endpoint matches the approved providers list in the dashboard logs.
Troubleshooting
If prediction endpoints are blocked, verify the configuration for Zed’s specific API base URLs in the policies.
Known limitations
Native agent/tool visibility may be limited until deeper hooks are available.
